What We Do
At Gulf Coast Insurance Attorneys, we help people who are involved in insurance disputes. That means we step in aggressively when insurance companies refuse to pay the full amount – or any amount – of what they are supposed to pay.
This includes helping individuals and families whose home or property has been damaged by a hurricane, flood, fire, tornado, or another disaster. It also includes recovering money for people when any type of insurance company denies coverage, meaning that the insurer claims that the policyholder is not covered and therefore deserves nothing.
Gulf Coast Insurance Attorneys also aggressively handles “bad faith” claims against insurance companies on behalf of our clients. These “bad faith” claims can result in awards of penalties and attorney’s fees against an insurer for failing to accurately and timely evaluate and pay insurance claims.
Gulf Coast Insurance Attorneys stands against unethical insurance practices that harm everyday people, profit-driven professionals who prioritize their own gains, and inefficiencies that slow down results for hardworking individuals and families. What makes us unique is our combination of our ethical personalized service to our clients and our exceptional track record of timely top-dollar recoveries.
We hold ourselves to the highest standards of practice. We provide aggressive and effective legal representation to our clients with the highest standards of excellence, compassion, and integrity. We have never been subject to a single disciplinary action in the decades in which we have been handling insurance claims.
Gulf Coast Insurance Attorneys is attentive to our clients and their questions. We maintain a “24-hour” return call policy, wherein, if initially unavailable, we will return all calls within 24 hours. Our clients actually get to speak directly to and work directly with the attorney handling their case, not just a paralegal or legal secretary. Last, we work with our clients to develop the communications approach that works best for them, providing our clients with as much or as little information on their case as they want when they want, and in the manner they want, such as calls, emails, or text messages.
Gulf Coast Insurance Attorneys delivers top results for our clients because we know how insurance companies unfairly deny and delay claims. For example, insurance companies underpay property claims in so many ways that most people are not even aware of: scope, pricing, quality and kind, depreciation, overhead and profit, and code issues, just to name a few. But we also know how to quickly and drastically turn the tables on the insurance companies – by quickly documenting the real losses with expert reports, and then getting to the settlement table with the right parties to obtain top results as soon as possible.
At Gulf Coast Insurance Attorneys, we know what is most important to our clients – “how much” and “when” – and we pursue recoveries with that foremost in mind. Getting paid the most money they can as quickly they can is without question our clients’ top goal for their insurance claims and therefore is our top goal as well. At Gulf Coast Insurance Attorneys, we aggressively take on our clients’ insurance problems until they are solved, and we are here for the sole purpose of helping our clients and solving their insurance problems. We understand that our clients deeply depend upon us to aggressively pursue justice on their behalf, and we consider this trust to be sacred.
Attorney Peter Diiorio is the owner and founder of Gulf Coast Insurance Attorneys and is involved in all cases handled by the firm. Mr. Diiorio has focused his career on aggressively handling his clients’ insurance problems by expediting full-value settlements for his clients.
Attorney Theodore K. Fish, Jr. is “Of Counsel” to Gulf Coast Insurance Attorneys and focuses his practice on first-party insurance claims. Mr. Fish is a veteran litigator, having spent decades battling the insurance companies, and understands the value of providing personalized attention and prompt communication to his clients.
At Gulf Coast Insurance Attorneys, we have trusted processes that quickly deliver top-value results for our clients. First, Gulf Coast Insurance Attorneys hires the leading estimators and court experts to write the most effective damage reports for our clients. These are the reports that get insureds paid full value, unlike the estimates of the many unqualified adjusters who arrive after storms to make a quick buck. We advance the cost of these reports with no risk to our clients, because if the client recovers nothing, then the client owes nothing.
Moving forward, Gulf Coast Insurance Attorneys can negotiate with the insurance companies using real leverage – attorney’s fees and penalties if the claim is not paid quickly and within legal limits. We aggressively press the issue with the insurers – both in terms of “how much” and “when” – by setting up settlement conferences early in the process, either via pre-suit mediations or informal settlement conferences with the defense attorneys for the insurers. Since our office focuses solely on insurance claims, we maintain excellent working relations with the defense attorneys for the insurers, enabling expedited settlements for our clients at full value.
Since 2005, our office has represented over 500 policyholders and recovered over $25 million for these insureds and their families. We have never represented a corporation or insurance company, and we make total client satisfaction our foremost priority.
